Alpetros Design was contracted by Downer E.D.I. Engineering Ltd to undertake the workshop detailing of all structural steel & mechanical plant on the cement mill at Gladstone. In addition to the eleven levels of structural steel (800tonnes) Alpetros’ contract included the (6000 tonne capacity) lime storage bin, gypsum and clinker bins, chute work, conveyor systems and support structures. Additional work to upgrade existing facilities was undertaken by Alpetros staff during the contract. The completed project is expected to produce 300,000 tonnes of lime per year.
