The Centennial Coal project near Lithgow in New South Wales is typical of a materials handling coal conveyor expansion project by the Australian mining industry. The structural steel detailing was achieved by four of Alpetros Design's draftsman using Strucad 3D modelling software and made use of the multi-user 3D model manager environment.

Alpetros Design  was contracted by Melco Engineering to supply the 800 tonne per hour rail load  out plant and conveyor systems. The contract work was made up of dump hopper,  load out bin, wing wall, grizzly, support steelwork, feeder/fines/head chutes,  conveyor modules/trestles/gantries and associated structures. Delivery of the  project was achieved on schedule.

The Saraji Coal Handling Preparation Plant was modeled and co-coordinated with the design engineer to enable changes to be made during detailing. The detailing contract undertaken for the Thiess Sedgmann joint venture was completed on schedule.
